Holiday Fitness |
The season where families come together around the dinner table
to share some delicious home cooked meals. The season of giving and gathering. We
ALL love the holidays, however many of us often fall off track during this
season. It does not have to be like this. Here are some helpful tips to help
you enjoy the holidays while still working toward your fitness goals.
STAY HYDRATED
The most important tip of all is the simplest. JUST stay
hydrated! This can make all the difference. By staying hydrated you will help
your body work optimally. You will also be sure to differentiate when you are
full more easily. Many times, we can confuse hunger with thirst.
DON'T DRINK YOUR CALORIES
To enjoy most of the foods you love you can eliminate
acholic drinks or reduce the amount you have. Most alcoholic beverages have
high calories, plus they give nasty headaches. Limiting these drinks or avoiding
them all together can help you feel better and stay on track.
Stay in Movement
Its ok to skip the gym during the holidays but be sure to
add more movement to your holiday schedule. You can add an afternoon walk in the
park or a quick 20-minute HITT routine at home before you start your day. There
are many at home routines you can follow on YouTube.
Hello Lesley, thank you for providing those healthy tips for the holiday season. These tips will definitely help make wise decisions rather than just completely falling off track and diet. In a way, we can even use the fall\winter season for bulking, use those extra calories and lift heavy. Just really depends on the aesthetic the individual is going for lol.
